A beautiful bathroom reveals a lot about a person and their family. Bathrooms are intimate spaces, where one begins their day, splashing cool water on their face, taking a look in the mirror and perhaps singing in the shower with kiddos close by. It’s the place where intentions are set, often a personal haven, designed beautifully, with streamlined cleanliness and your personal needs as inspiration.
I recently had the privilege of shooting a bathroom designed with that very notion in mind. The breathtaking, light-filled bathroom of Jen Auerbach, the Nashville-based co-founder of the clean beauty line Clary Collection, is featured this month in Allure’s October Beauty issue. The space, which strikes that perfect balance of beauty and functionality, is dotted with charming details that add a touch of Jen’s personality at every turn, like a small-scale vintage crystal pendant light and floral needlepoint chair. I love the coupling of white subway tile walls with that statement black and white geometric floor tile, seamlessly pairing a clean, classic moment with a big, maximalist punch.
This shoot was full of so much laughter and Jen was an absolute delight to work with. We played around with florals (a LOT of them!) and took full advantage of the Clary Collection’s gorgeous packaging, displaying a slew of her oils and products on the countertop. The space is so simple, but the design is impactful, making the space an absolute dream to photograph. Thank you so much Allure and Jen for a wonderful day!
