A few months ago, I had such a fun day shooting Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd’s home in Nashville. Today, I’m thrilled to finally share their space with you in this week’s print edition of People!
In partnership with Wayfair and Wayfair Registry, we’re highlighting the music stars’ outdoor entertaining space and backyard, which boasts several vignettes offering versatility and comfort for these newlyweds. There are multiple pockets of seating for whatever mood they’re seeking, whether a cup of coffee on the porch rocking chairs or a large-scale barbeque spanning the elevated deck and the fire pit circled by Adirondacks. As you’ll see, the key to capturing both comfort and style outside is integrating indoor elements throughout, like cozy throw blankets, large floor pillows, a geometric rug, and of course, a good dose of coffee table styling.
When I’m shooting a family or couple in their own home, I strive to catch them in the most authentic way possible, especially because one’s home is where they feel most comfortable and vulnerable. For Maren, who’s a mighty powerhouse of a singer, and Ryan, a musical force in his own right, they exhibit such a pure, life-giving kind of love and an energy that’s easy to capture on camera. It was also such fun working with the Wayfair team and the couple’s Nashville-based designer Lori Paranjape on set. Not to mention, featuring Maren and Ryan’s new home, which is so fresh, liveable, and perfect for the busy and recently married couple, in People is such a honor!
