Domino Magazine Feature with a Music City Charmer

It is a gift to be able do what you love. Something I do not take lightly. It is even a more magical experience when I am able to do what I love in my own city (CLICK HERE FOR MY PERSONAL NASHVILLE GUIDE and Click HERE FOR MY MUSIC CITY FAVORITES WITH CHAIRISH.COM)!! I ended the year with over 100k sky miles and city hoping for 17 straight weeks to end with this local Nashville charmer. A few things come to mind here…. Number #1: My images bring me immediately back to the shoot day where it all begins, I am able to look at an image and feel all the feelings attached to this particular moment. Number #2: This day was a result of two women coming together, believing in one another, trusting the process, trusting one another, to ultimately create and inspire beauty.

A true collaboration from start to finish with my client who I am grateful to now call a friend. Y’all let me introduce to you Kathryn Berschback of Berschback Design. All the magic is initiated with one simple email request…. followed up with a phone call filled with chemistry. I can’t stress enough how important it is to work with those you enjoy. Life is meant to be fully lived in and loved in with beautiful humans around you. Fill your homes with light and fill your emotional space with those who add sunshine to your day!

I am thrilled to share this recent Nashville project with you and so much love to Domino magazine for continuing to support my craft and beautiful clients. Today, let us all allow a little more joy in and spread a little more light. Much love to you all!!!

Domino Feature: Tarpon Springs Home Shoot for Oxford Design Studio

It’s not everyday that you plan a visit to the “Sponge Capital of the World”, but seeing as how I love a good bath as much as I do (check out my recent National Bubble Bath Day giveaway to see just how much), I couldn’t help but be intrigued by this unexpected city! Let me introduce you to the darling little town of Tarpon Springs, FL a beachy township located along central Florida’s sunny Gulf Coast, known for its incredible Greek community — which some say is the largest in all of the United States! It fills my heart to be introduced to creatives and their unique cities all over the country while working alongside some of the design industry’s leading stars. Stumbling on this charming gem was a fun perk of shooting for my client and friend, Oxford Design Exchange. The bold, beachy space was designed as an ideal first home for a young and gracious family. Marble floors topped with antique Moroccan rugs and dotted use of pattern against a muted color scheme made for a fun play on texture and personality, perfect for entertaining. It was a project with a lot of moving parts and lots of hands on deck, which makes it so fulfilling to see this old-meets-new space come to life!

A Preppy Space in Portland with Domino Magazine!

There's a new way to infuse preppiness into a space without a fussy or forced result. It's a look that Portland's Caitlin Wilson has mastered, who now has her own textile and furniture line to boot (Check out their NEW Dallas, TX location)..

Before, it was a southern design genre reserved for floral-upholstered tea rooms full of objects not to be touched or ladies-only enclaves in exclusive country clubs. Now, the Preppy New Southern is full of light and room, dotted with punchy patterns and playful prints, full of classic blue and white combinations, and has a touch of charm at every turn. It's a kind of space that just fills you with joy when you enter it, which makes it such a delight to photograph.

I recently worked with Caitlin in this amazing Portland home, designed with her playful eye for pattern and color and, of course, integrating so many textiles, rugs and accessories from her line. Although each room has its own unique feel, I just love her design consistency and the way each room melts into the next. She gravitates toward classic ginger jars, gingham, stripes and florals, but has this way of mixing them all to create the ultimate play on pattern. To achieve the look, she has such a great eye for product and I loved editing the spaces utilizing all her brand's accessories -- each room has just enough styling to make a statement without becoming cluttered or overwhelming.

Domino Mag Feature: An Austin Texas Airbnb with a Major Color Crush

When it comes to her aesthetic, business model, and charm, I'm truly inspired and adore designer Allison Crawford. In the past few years, she's flipped the script on the heavily-client based interior design field to create a totally new kind of hustle. Allison's decided she's designing for herself. Can you think of anything more cathartic and creative? I can't.

With Allison's trial venture, Hotelette, she invested in a great piece of property in Nashville, designed a space that was all her own, and now lists it on sites like Airbnb and VRBO. She's now expanding to other cities, and with each new property comes a blank canvas to incorporate all the trends she loves. Her drive and her creative foundation make her a real champion of The New Southern movement in such a strong and honest way, and I'm so lucky to work alongside her. And if you caught any of our behind the scenes together on instagram you were laughing all the way from the beginning of this project to the end.

Her spaces are just begging to be photographed, with each stylish vignette creating an Instagramable moment. In this Austin, Texas space, Allison created a playful mood with her fearless use of color, mix of textures, and thoughtful placement of layers. She really drew inspiration from the surrounding city, with exotic accessories and pieces of vibrant Austin sprinkled throughout. The home offers something for everyone, which is a genius design strategy for a rental space. So no matter who calls this space home for the weekend, they'll feel at peace in one of its cozy nooks.
